Xplor 1491 takes children and families back to the world before 1492, when foods, animals, flavours and cultures had not yet travelled across continents as they do today. Through board games, cards, maps, storytelling and sensory activities, Xplor turns learning into a concrete, social and memorable experience. More than a board game, Xplor is a multidisciplinary educational universe where children learn through play, curiosity and hands-on exploration.
Xplor Games is an educational game universe where children travel across continents, discover where foods and animals originally come from, and learn through play, cooperation and exploration. The core game includes the Xplor 1491 Discovery Pack. Additional expansion packs, such as New World Food, Old World Food and Xplor Animals, extend the learning experience and can be used in workshops, classrooms, family activities and multidisciplinary projects about food, animals, geography, history and culture.
Xplor Academy offers playful and multidisciplinary workshops for schools, kindergartens, libraries, activity centres, families and cultural venues. Through storytelling, maps, cards, quizzes, Xplor Games and tasting experiences, children explore food, culture, geography, history, animals, polar regions and the five senses. The goal is to make learning active, social and easy to remember.
Xplor Academy also develops learning cards, quizzes, activity books and educational books that help children repeat, understand and remember what they have experienced through games and workshops. The book Xplor Nutrition explains the body, food and health in a simple and visual way through the analogy of a Formula 1 car. The activity books allow children to continue learning at home, at school or after a workshop.

Xplor has developed and delivered learning activities in collaboration with organisations such as Deichman, Sentralen, Smaksverkstedet, Røde Kors Family Centre, Grunerløkka Flerbrukshus, Oslo International School and Lycée Français d’Oslo. This experience forms the foundation for Xplor 1491 and the development of new playful educational resources.
